Welcome to the new monthly letter just for the BFC community.
We are going to have a little fun as we work together to build a more resilient local food system! Thank you for being here, and for sharing in this mission.
Announcements & Opportunities
New Store hours:
Mon-Friday 12-6
Sat - Sun 10:30-4
•••••
The new point-of-sale system is up and running!
Checkout time is getting quicker and smoother each day.
•••••
Have some light to spare?
If you have any table lamps looking for a home, bring them over to the co-op. They will be put to good use lighting up shelves — and providing some quirky decor — all around the store.
•••••
Want to help out?
We are looking for volunteers to help out at the store; stocking, breaking down boxes, and other essential details. This could be ongoing or drop in assistance.
At the end of March will be doing inventory and many hands make light work!
If you are able to help with this or have other expertise to help us grow the BFC into something even more amazing, reach out to: vclarke777@protonmail.com

Did you receive your membership card?
If you were expecting your Member/Owner card in January, and did NOT receive it, please let us know at: blackberryfoodcoop@riseup.net. In your email, please include the name and address it should have been sent to.
Locally grown and produced food is what the BFC is about! We want to strengthen the connection between local farmers and makers with consumers by bringing food that is grown and made here to the people who live and eat here.
What do we mean by local?
That means suppliers in Cottage Grove first, then Lane County, Oregon, and the Pacific Northwest. In that order.
Product Highlight
The Co-op is getting in new stuff all the time! Just check out the INTENSE selection of mushrooms and SEVEN varieties of apples.
Nettle Kraut from Kraüchi is the epitome of BFC goals. It is organic. It is made in small batches right here in Cottage Grove from produce grown on local farms. AND, one of the main ingredients is the highly nutritious native nettle that is pretty much ignored by large food suppliers.
The nettle plant is also a bit finicky to harvest and prepare due to its nettle nature, making it a great job for… someone else. Bonus: this zingy raw probiotic treat is delicious!
More things to get excited about:
We are saving up for another vegetable cooler so that we can have an even greater variety of local produce. Every purchase of a BFC Membership contributes to the purchase of store improvements and supplies.
